Where small businesses lose money

Most money leaks are follow-up problems.

Leak 01 · Cash

Customers pay late, and nobody has time to chase them.

Overdue invoices age past 30, 60, 90 days. The longer they sit, the less you collect.

Automatic reminders by stage, a ranked daily call list and a payment link in every message.

Leak 02 · Leads

Quotes go out, and then go quiet.

Most leads need several touches before they buy. Busy teams stop after one.

Follow-up sequences that run until the lead books, declines or asks you to stop.

Leak 03 · Time

The owner is the most expensive data-entry clerk.

Spreadsheets, copy-paste reports and status checks eat the hours that should grow the business.

Reports that build themselves and one dashboard that shows the week at a glance.

About

An operator who builds.

Clockwork Automation was founded by Jeremy, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in communications, where keeping information moving accurately and on time was the job. He got his start in business running operations, sales and collections at a San Diego company, building the systems behind them: collections boards, sales pipelines, call audits and owner dashboards.

Over the last few years we've learned what actually moves the numbers in a small business and what just adds busywork. Now we're here to bring those real solutions to yours.

We're not selling you software. We learn how your business actually works, build the system that fits it, and stick around to make sure it keeps paying off.

Questions owners ask

Frequently asked questions

What does a business automation consultant do?

A business automation consultant finds repetitive work that costs a business time or money, such as chasing late payments or following up on quotes, and builds systems that do that work automatically. Clockwork Automation builds those systems for small businesses in San Diego County.

How much does business automation cost for a small business?

The first call is free. An automation audit is $500 and is credited toward a build. Builds are quoted at a fixed price after the audit, and monthly support starts at $500 per month.

How long does an automation build take?

Most builds take three to five weeks from signed proposal to live system, including testing with your real data.

Do I need to buy new software?

Most systems are built on a CRM (customer relationship manager) in an account you own, which usually costs under $20 per user per month. If you already use software that can do the job, we can build there instead.

Who owns the system after it's built?

You own your system, your account and your data. If you stop working with Clockwork Automation, everything keeps running in your account.

Will automated messages say the wrong thing to my customers?

No message goes out until you approve its wording. Every text and email follows rules you set, including opt-outs, quiet hours and which customers never get automated messages.

What is fractional operations?

Fractional operations means having a part-time head of operations without a full-time hire. Clockwork Automation runs a weekly operations meeting, reviews your dashboard each month, fixes processes hands-on and coaches your team leads, for $2,500 to $4,000 per month.

Do you set up our phone system?

Yes. Clockwork Automation sets up and supports your business phone numbers and texting, and connects them to your CRM hub so every call and text is logged to the right customer automatically.

Can I start with just one tool?

Yes. Pick whichever tool fits your business. On the first call we figure out together which one will pay off fastest. Every tool plugs into the same hub, so nothing gets rebuilt when you add more.

Do you only work with San Diego businesses?

Clockwork Automation is based in San Diego and meets clients in person across San Diego County. Businesses elsewhere can work together remotely.
